List of Wants and Needs
In the list of wants and needs, things we need are those we can’t do without. Wants to enhance the quality of life but aren’t required for survival. You may have to sacrifice some of your wants, but you cannot do without your needs. For example, clothes are necessary but expensive, on-trend pieces are more luxurious.
Transportation
A reliable mode of transportation to and from work is necessary, while a flashy new car is more of a luxury on the list of wants and needs.
Apartments
Apartments with luxuries like a gym, pool, and garage parking are more of a want than a necessity. Of course, one must have a house with enough bedrooms, but having a guest room and a home theatre system is a luxury in the list of wants and needs.
Luxury
Carrying your own lunch is necessary, but ordering sushi is a luxury. To complete your schoolwork and work from home, you will require access to the internet via a computer. A four-monitor PC and a massage gaming chair are both things that I would like to have on the list of wants and needs.
Health facilities
For example, you may need to go to the pharmacy to pick up some cold medicine or first aid supplies, but you may also want to pick up a bag of chips, a magazine, and some nail polish on your way to the register. A need would be to call a repairer because your shower is leaking, while a want would be to replace the entire bathroom in the list of wants and needs.
Accessories
Desires are based on subjective tastes. Accessories, garments, vehicles, real estate, and leisure activities are all things that are nice to have but not essential to survival. The same can be said for clothing, transportation, and entertainment in the list of wants and needs.
Necessities
However, it is human nature to mistake wants for necessities. Needs are the bare minimum one requires in order to maintain one’s health, self-respect, and ability to contribute to society in the list of wants and needs.
Needs
When we evaluate our wants against our needs, we often find that our wants are beyond our control. It takes time, energy, and money to satisfy our desires. They also need regular upkeep and care. Needs and wants shift priorities as we age.
Basic requirements
You must meet your basic requirements, which include eating right, getting enough sleep, hydrating, and exercising regularly. The state of your health has a significant impact on how much pleasure you take in life generally. Without adequate rest and sustenance, mental health declines. Water is essential for optimal bodily function in the list of wants and needs.
Hospital bills
A safe place to live can prevent injuries, illnesses, and natural disasters. The goal of healthcare providers is to help patients recover their health by addressing underlying medical conditions, restoring their mobility, and coping with chronic conditions.
